It marks the beginning of the entrepreneurial path of the Group Cappello. We are in Giarratana, a small town in the province of Ragusa that in those years had a bit more than 3,500 inhabitants.
Giuseppe Cappello, up to that moment had had work experiences in the metal and mechanical industry. He came from Milan, where he specialized as a lathe turner and tool and die maker, for which he studied at the Istituto professionale in Modica.
Back in his home country he started working in a small workshop specializing in general welding of agricultural and industrial vehicles.

IDuring his visit at the Trade Fair of Milan, Giuseppe Cappello meets the leaders of Pillar Naco Industries, a large Anglo-Australian multinational producer of mechanisms for adjustable glass and sun slats.
The relationship will become a productive partnership, beneficial for Pillar Naco’s expansion aims in Italy and for Giuseppe Cappello himself, who will acquire an exclusivity agreement for the products in Sicily.

Business increase will necessitate a transfer to working spaces that are more suited to the new demands. From a small workshop of only 36 square meters in via Bixio, Giuseppe Cappello begins his evolution activity with a more organized workshop of over 150 square meters in via XX Settembre.

These were years of great productive ferment, the first experiments for the construction of iron doors and windows start in and in 1975, the partnership with Pillar-Naco produces the blind with adjustable wood slats and Naco mechanisms. Just one year later, in 1976, the first shutter with entirely adjustable aluminium slats will see the light. A product set to revolutionize the doors and windows market.

It is the decade of successes and two stances on the municipal institutions of the time. The need to meet the growing demand, comes up against the constraints of the town plan of a small town not really prepared to the industrial development of the eighties. The company will anyway continue its path of expansion with another facility created in Giarratana. In 1984 the craft business gives way to the more organized Production and Metal Business of Cappello Giuseppe & Co.

As in the best family entrepreneurial traditions, the children Giorgio, Giovanni and Ivana join the company completing the team already composed by the same Giuseppe and his wife Salvina.

It is the year the official arrival of the Cappello family in Ragusa. The premises in via delle Dolomiti will be the projection point to the new scenarios that in the near future would give life to the factory of the industrial area. The BricoPoint brand is born, designed to offer solutions, advice and supplies of accessories to door and window manufacturers and handymen.

Three years after the arrival in Ragusa, construction works for the building of the first Cappello brand production plant at the industrial area start. In 2000 the Cappello2 will already be in production, powder painting and sublimation.

In these two years the construction of the Zinco Iblea plant takes place. The hot dip galvanizing tank, one of the largest in Italy, has a length of 12.80 metres, a width of 1.50 metres and a depth of 3.00 metres. Inside here the zinc is maintained in fusion at a temperature of 450°.

With the aim to continue the path of innovation, the construction of the new Cappello Alluminio factory begins and with this the definitive closure of the offices in Giarratana.

The investments of the family point to the production of energy from renewable sources. The brands Micron, for the production of photovoltaic panels and Coversun, with the systems for building integration of solar panels and the new company Cappello Energy, specialized in the supply and installation of the systems are born.

It is the year that marks the transformation of the brand in a Corporation, with the creation of Cappello Group S.p.A. In here will merge the companies Cappello Alluminio, Cappello 2 and Zinco Iblea. A path which is completed with the final transition towards internationalization, already started in 2013, with the intent to maintain the same production standards expressed in the national territory. Today Cappello Group S.p.A. is a company that spreads on an area of 80,000 square meters, with three factories for the production and marketing, all equipped with modern and technologically advanced facilities.
